What is Parola?
Parola is a Multimedia Arts capstone project created by a small team of students from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. This website is home to the Parola docuseries and other written and visual content designed especially for Filipino seafarers and their loved ones.
Named after the Filipino word for “lighthouse”, Parola wants to be a guiding light for those navigating life at sea. Through stories, resources, and creative expression, Parola hopes to bridge distances and bring a sense of community to those who sacrifice so much across oceans.

Minzo
Minzo is our lead director and editor for our documentary. He has a passion for the arts, and loves his dog and cats. You’ll sometimes catch him admiring the moon and the sea.
Chie
Chie is our executive producer. She coordinated with many seafarers for this project. With loved ones at sea, the project was especially meaningful. Outside of Parola, she enjoys films and animal welfare.
Leo
Leo is our website designer and the sound engineer on set. When he’s not working on Parola, he’s most likely asleep and dreaming of cowboys.
Chamee
Chamee is our director of photography for the documentary. Some of the website’s articles are written by her. She loves adventure and cameras.
Tori
Tori is our graphic designer and production assistant on set. The illustrations found on the website and documentary are her work. When not glued to her tablet, you can find her at the nearest bakery.
